Meet The Team
Coming Together Waveney was set up by Stacey Drennan as a Facebook Group to help the most vulnerable and high risk in our community to get the everyday essential foods and supplies they need to survive in the wake of the Coronavirus COVID-19 Crisis.
As others stockpiled and raided the supermarket shelves, they decided to bring a band of amazing volunteers together to ensure we see an end to the heartbreaking images that flooded our TV screens and social media of the elderly and vulnerable being left unable to simply get the basics in our stores.
With the Facebook Group going from zero to over 4k members in a week, Kelly and Stacey have been supported by other volunteers willing to become admins to help them cope with the flood of enquiries for assistance and to liaise with all those willing to donate food and supplies.
These are ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things during the COVID-19 crisis. On this page, they let you have a little peak into who they are. They are backed up by a fantastic army of volunteers and companies willing to help during these difficult times.
Founder/Director also Media/Fundraising
Hi my name is Stacey Drennan.
I’m 40 yrs old and I believe we should all work together in times like this to help those who need it. It’s nice to be nice.
About 18 months ago I founded outreach on the streets. They help the homeless and less fortunate. I started the group Coming Together Waveney to bring the community together to help.
General Manager also Media/Fundraising
I’m Kelly Brooks, 37 years young and I have lived locally for around 30 years. I am a fully qualified and regulated mortgage & protection broker, having been in financial services for around 15 years.
I don’t have children but I have cats & dogs, have had horses too (they are all my kids!!) but I do have nieces & nephews that I love to bits but also love to give back 😂. I don’t have time for sports anymore with my work commitments unfortunately, but I used to be a keen rugby player ,particularly 7’s tournaments.
Admin: Donations Coordinator
My name is Mike Nursey. I am a retired Occupational Therapist, having worked locally in the NHS for 31 years. Since retiring, I’ve helped out a couple of charities, and wanted to join the community effort to help our vulnerable residents at this stressful time.
I’m married with one daughter who’s at university. For hobbies, I try to play tennis regularly, and attempt to go to the gym.
Hi. I’m Marie. I am a holistic therapist and crystal seller in my normal life but stepped in as an admin member when the group put an appeal out for extra help.
My specialised skills are being very organised, handy on the PC and able to remain calm in a crisis. I consider myself to be a bit of an “ideas” person and enjoy creative projects at all levels.
In my spare time (lots of that now!) I enjoy playing the piano, singing, painting and adult gymnastics.
Admin: IT and Marketing
Hi, my name’s Jasmine and I am currently a student who aspires to work in the NHS in the future. I am community focused as I am a voluntary cover manager in a charity shop. I believe that helping others helps yourself heal and grow as a person.
I volunteered to join the admin team here because we are facing scary and uncertain times which are out of our control.
I believe we can only make it through this awful time together and as a community!

I’m 32, a mum of 4 (3 under 5), and a housewife. I joined admin pretty much for the same reason as all of us – just to help others.
I just wanted to see something positive out of all this and to help set a good example for my children.

Hi, I’m Gail, self-employed, and I’ve been a business energy and environment journalist/editor for around 25 years now, adding web design, marketing, and copy writing into the mix over the last 10 years. My passion though is photography – love nothing better than capturing the world around me when out and about with my rescue dog or taking a city break (well in safer times, that is).
So glad I have been able to help others in some small way by putting my skills to use for this amazing group and my local community. It’s a pleasure working with this hard working, selfless team. I look forward to actually meeting them all in person one day!
Stay safe everyone.
Mediator and Community Group Liasion
Hi! I’m Jen, mother of 4, living in North Lowestoft, an undergraduate of the University of Suffolk.
You may be familiar with me from another local page. I’m community minded and committed to putting my energy where it is needed most. No job is too big or too small, and if I don’t know the answer, I have a vast array of contacts that would.
I’m Gareth. I am a 42 year old single parent of one and live in Great Yarmouth. My hobbies include gardening, binge watching box sets, and going for walks.
I wanted to join the group to try to put back into the community.
Susie James (The Flying Dutchman)
I work as a foot health practitioner and, spending most of my time with the elderly, I realise how lonely and scary it can be for them. I just want to make sure they have someone to turn to during this time if they need help.
I live at The Flying Dutchman with Chris Moore, kids, and a dog. Hobbies – will need an 8-day week to fit them in!
